Water is the essential of all life!

Two thirds of the human body is water! Water is an essential nutrient that is involved in every function of the body. It helps transport nutrients and waste products in and out of cells. It is necessary for all digestive, absorption, circulatory and excretory functions, as well as for the utilisation of water soluble vitamins. It is also needed for the maintenance of proper body temperature. By drinking an adequate amount of water every day--at least eight 8-ounce glasses--you can ensure that your body has all it needs to maintain good health.

Most people assume that the water from their tap is clean, safe and healthy drinking water. Unfortunately this is not always true. Regardless of its source tap water is vulnerable to a number of different types of impurities. Some undesirable impurities found in water include radon, fluoride, arsenic, iron, lead, copper and other heavy metals. Other contaminants, such as fertilizers, asbestos, cyanides, herbicides, pesticides, prozac and birth control pills plus industrial chemicals may leach into ground water, filter through the soil, or into any tap water from plumbing pipes. Still other substances including chlorine, fluoride, carbon, lime, phosphates, soda ash and aluminium sulfate are intentionally added to public water supplies to kill bacteria, adjust pH and eliminate cloudiness, among other things. In addition water can contain biological contaminants, including viruses, bacteria and parasites.

If you are concerned about water quality in your area the local water officials or health department can test it for you.

You can of course filter your water by one of several methods two good ones are reverse osmosis and ceramic filtration. however no filter can remove all contaminants, although one with an absolute pore size of 1 micron or less comes very close.
