Dietary experts used to say that the more you ate the fatter you got! and conversely the less you ate the thinner you would be! How wrong can they be, it used to be thought that calorie counting was the way to control your weight, that's the old fashioned way of many diets still around today, but it's not that simple. There are low fat diets, high fibre diets, low carbohydrate diets. They all seem to work quite well especially at first, but if your nutritional needs are neglected then it can be at a high price to your health. The big problem with low calorie diets is that your body goes into starvation mode. Your metabolism slows down, you have less energy, so physical output is less and every calorie is grabbed and stored, as your starving body is holding on to all the stored fat. It will burn up other parts of you including muscle, your heart is a muscle! The initial weight loss that makes you think your diet is working is caused by losing some fat and some muscle and any extra calories, cakes and sweets etc, consumed are quickly absorbed and STORED as fat! For optimum health we need optimum nutrition. This is where GR2 Control helps as it guides you to eating the right kind of foods that are nutritionally dense--packed with lots of natural goodness. It will help you to retrain your eating habits so there are no cravings for nutritionally deficient foods. If you eat nutritionally deficient food your diet is doomed to failure and you could die of starvation before you loose any weight. So as you can see if you follow the GR2 Control plan then you will be more likely to succeed than if you are on the "conventional low carbohydrate diet" as generally they are very low in fibre, fibre is quite filling, doesn't contain any calories, and is very necessary. Most plant food fats are unsaturated and have no cholesterol. I'm sure you are aware that saturated fat, cholesterol and obesity are all linked to heart disease and diabetes, plant foods have a distinct advantage over animal foods, which contain no fibre and have a high concentration of saturated fats. Another important part of weight control which was rarely if ever mentioned by the experts is exercise! Exercise is the other secret to being successful in losing weight as it raises your metabolic rate not just whilst you are working out but for several hours afterwards, and helps regulate your appetite. You don't have to join a gym to exercise, but you do have to be regular and should be something you enjoy doing. It can be walking, jogging, cycling, gardening even vacuuming uses a considerable amount of energy, as of course do most sports. Of course if you have an underlying medical condition please ask your health care provider to recommend the type of exercise that would be suitable for you. |
